The Overland Business Association and the City of Overland are hosting the Summer Festival Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 8:00am - 4:00pm. The Joey Wasser Walk/Run starts at 9:00am. The Erickson Plaza dedication at 10:30am. Kid's activities throughout the day. Vintage car show from 11:00am - 3:00pm. Hudson and the Hoo Doo Cats Band from Noon - 3:00. Come and join the festivities! Fun for the entire family!
A Tree Memorial Service
You are invited to come join North Central Hobbies in a memorial tree service for the tree that died outside the front of their location at 9630 Lackland Rd. We are looking to make this a community project by placing ribbons on the tree. Does this sound absurd? Yes! Those of us at North Central Hobbies love to look for any excuse to get together and have a party. So, come and join us on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 8:30am in front of North Central Hobbies. Don't forget your ribbon!
North Central Hobbies, 9630 Lackland Rd. has been an Overland staple since 1984. NCH was started by Tom and Carmen Eckert and was purchased by Bill Egsieker and Dennis Hageman in 1999. Bill and Dennis are both life-long residents of Overland.
NCH carries a wide variety of hobby products; plastic models, trains, flying model rockets, puzzles, slot cars and more.
They installed a 1/32 scale slot car track in November and hold races on Friday nights from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. Friday night is Family Night. People of all ages are invited to come and join the fun!
